The Masquerade Ball comes home

For reasons that I don't particularly want to go into right now, I was only add to make a brief appearance at this month's Masquerade Ball and most of that time was spent lurking at the bar. That obviously means that I'll have to keep this keep brief.

Especially since it was hosted in a very familiar location, meaning that I can't pad for time by dwelling on all the particulars of the venue. I'm not actually sure if this was the first time that the ball had been hosted at The Library, but it was certainly my first time attending one hosted there. All of a sudden, the new bar and dinning area that was added a while back makes a lot more sense.... not that it didn't before.

The only other thing I can say is that it was nice that The Library's BDSM roots were embraced by some of the event goers. As cultured and dignified as these events are, the sexy background behind them should never be forgotten, particularly when The Library itself is the venue.

That said, I feel like it was quite fitting that those that wanted to dabbled in a touch a filth were provided with a bit of darkness and shadow to indulge in, nicely reflecting the stark contrast in mood  and tone to the fully lit ballroom floor.
