To be honest with you, I went back and forth with myself over whether I would do a calendar this year. Over on Twitter, it sometimes feels like just about everyone is doing their own calendar, even if most of those tend to just be monthly drops rather than giving you the whole year from the outset.
My mind was made up that I wouldn't bother this year but there has been a late change of heart. I always say that I'll only do something if I believe it is original or because I have something new to add to what has been done before. And this year, I wasn't feeling at all inspired. It seemed like, after doing 5 years of calendars, it had gone stale for me.
But then I had that epiphany that I needed. A new concept for this year's theme that would set it apart from any of those other calendars that you will see appearing each month.

There is one change from my usual convention though; this year there will
just be a a single full-colour edition, so no black and white version for
you monochrome fans out there. A small price to pay for the late production
of it, I'm afraid.
